Itinerary

Upon your arrival at Delhi, you will be greeted by a representative from Sitar India Tours who will assist you with the transfer to your hotel. After a warm welcome, you will be briefed about your tour itinerary and handed over your travel documents. The rest of the day will be free for you to relax and unwind at your hotel. Overnight stay will be at your hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel, you will begin your sightseeing tour of Delhi, starting with a visit to Old Delhi. The tour will commence with a visit to Raj Ghat, a simple yet significant memorial to Mahatma Gandhi. You will then drive past the iconic Red Fort, which overlooks the river Yamuna and was built during the peak of the Mughal Empire between 1638-48. Continuing on, you will visit the Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosques in Asia which can be viewed from the outside. After exploring Old Delhi, you will proceed towards New Delhi which is a reflection of the legacy left behind by the British. The division between Old and New Delhi marks the distinction between the capitals of the Mughals and the British respectively. The tour to Imperial Delhi will include a visit to the Qutub Minar, the tallest stone tower in India, built by Qutub-ud-din Aibak in 1199, and Humayun’s Tomb. You will also drive past the impressive India Gate, the Parliament Building, and the Rashtrapati Bhawan, the President’s residence. In the evening, you will visit the Lotus Temple (Bahai Temple). Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel.
After breakfast, you will travel to Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, also known as the Pink City. The city is known for its captivating architecture and design. Upon arrival and check-in at the hotel, you will visit the Birla Mandir in Jaipur, also known as the Lakshmi Narayan Temple. This Hindu temple, constructed solely of white marble, was built by the B.M. Birla Foundation in 1988 and is dedicated to the Hindu Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Vishnu (Narayan).
After breakfast, you will begin the sightseeing tour with a visit to Hawa Mahal (Wind Palace) for some photo opportunities. Then, you will proceed to Amber Fort, also known as the Amber Palace, located on a hill in Amer, Rajasthan. The fort, built by Raja Man Singh, is a fascinating blend of Hindu and Muslim architecture and is a major tourist attraction. You will take a short jeep ride to reach the fort. After the fort, you will visit City Palace, a beautiful fusion of Mughal and Rajput architecture, still home to the last ruling royal family. Your last stop will be Jantar Mantar, a collection of nineteen architectural astronomical instruments built by the Rajput king Sawai Jai Singh II, the founder of Jaipur, and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Overnight stay at the hotel.
After enjoying breakfast, drive to Mandawa. This city, founded in the mid-18th century, was once a hub for wealthy merchant families. These influential merchants constructed massive havelis, adorned with beautiful wall paintings, for their residence. Over time, however, the merchants moved away, leaving the stunning havelis to fade into anonymity. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel and then proceed for a sightseeing tour of the havelis in the afternoon. The wall paintings of Mandawa’s havelis in Rajasthan, India, have seen the themes change from time to time. In earlier days, mythology dominated the frescoes, displaying local legends, animals, portraits, hunting, and wrestling scenes. In the 19th century, the themes changed to reflect the British (Raj) influence on Indian culture. The traditional subjects were replaced by cars, trains, balloons, telephones, Englishmen in hunting attire, and portraits of the immaculately dressed haveli owners. Stay overnight in a haveli.
After breakfast, drive to Bikaner. The city’s history dates back to 1486 AD when Rao Jodhaji, the illustrious founder of Jodhpur, challenged his son to establish his own kingdom. For Prince Rao Bikaji, one of the five sons of Rao Jodhaji, the barren wilderness called Jangladesh became his focus point, and he transformed it into an impressive city. He accomplished this feat with 100 cavalry horses and 500 soldiers and established his kingdom on 84 villages abandoned by the Shankhlas. When Bikaji died in 1504, his rule had extended to more than 3,000 villages. Upon arrival in Bikaner, check in at your hotel. In the afternoon, proceed to visit Junagarh Fort, located in Bikaner, which is one of the most impressive fort complexes in India. Built by Raja Rai Singh in 1588 AD, the fort complex consists of palaces, courtyards, pavilions, and balconies. The walls, palaces, etc. are adorned with carved stones, marbles, paintings, and inlaid semi-precious stones. Each palace in the Junagarh fort complex was built by a different ruler over the centuries. Later, visit the Camel Breeding Farm, located at a distance of around 7 km from the city, which is one of the best attractions in Bikaner. It is home to various types of camels in large numbers and is a government-owned and run research and camel breeding center. This center helps locals earn more from their camels and also offers assistance for the good upkeep of these useful animals, known as the “Ship of the Desert.” Founded in 1984, it is also known as the Camel Breeding Farm. Stay overnight in the hotel.
After having breakfast, we will head towards Jaisalmer, known as the Golden City of Rajasthan. The city is unmatched and was once a part of the famous Silk Route. The impressive Jaisalmer Fort stands proudly on its land, narrating the tales of valor and chivalry of the Rajput rulers. Jaisalmer still retains its medieval charm, visible in its colorful narrow streets, splendid forts and palaces, opulent havelis, and bustling bazaars. Upon arrival, we will check-in at our hotel and have the rest of the day free at leisure. You can relax and rejuvenate in the comforts of your hotel or explore the surroundings on your own.
After breakfast, we will begin our sightseeing tour of Jaisalmer. Our first stop will be at Gadisar Lake, a water conservation tank built in 1400 AD, during the reign of Maharwal Gadsi Singh. If you are a bird-watcher, then Gadsisar Lake is the right place to be. You can also see a gateway made of yellow sandstones, known as Tilon Ki Pol, on the bank of the lake. A Krishna Temple is located by the side of the archway. Our next stop will be at Jaisalmer Fort, built-in 1156 by King Rawal Jaisal. The fort dominates the countryside in the far northwestern corner of Rajasthan, near the border of India and Pakistan. The magnificent complex, also known as Sonar Kila (“Golden Fort”), flourished on the east-west caravan route connecting India and Central Asia to the Middle East and North Africa. Merchants built elaborately designed havelis among the numerous palaces, temples, bazaars, and residences inside the walls of the complex. We will then visit the Jain Temples situated inside the Jaisalmer Fort. These temples date back to the 12th and 15th centuries and have high pilgrimage as well as archeological value attached to them. You will find animal and human figures carved in the famous Dilwara style on the walls of the temples. In the late afternoon, we will proceed for a camel ride in the dunes. A camel safari is the most original way of exploring Jaisalmer. Trudging through the Thar Desert on the back of a seasoned camel is an experience that you would remember for years to come. In the evening, we will return to our hotel and have a comfortable overnight stay.
After enjoying a delicious breakfast at your hotel in Jaisalmer, it’s time to head to Jodhpur. Known as “The Sun City,” Jodhpur was founded in 1459 by Rao Jodha, a chief of the Rathore clan. The city is named after him and was previously known as Marwar. As the second largest city in Rajasthan, Jodhpur is divided into two parts: the old city and the new city. The old city is surrounded by a 10 km long wall, with eight gates leading out of it. The new city, on the other hand, is located outside the walled city. Upon arrival in Jodhpur, check in at your hotel and take some time to relax and unwind. You may also want to explore the area around your hotel and discover the local culture and cuisine.
Start your day with a hearty breakfast before heading out to explore the city of Jodhpur. Your first stop is the Mehrangarh Fort, which is one of the most formidable and magnificent forts in Rajasthan. Built by Rao Jodha in 1459, the fort is spread over an area of 5 km and is situated on a 125 m high hill on the outskirts of Jodhpur city. You’ll be awed by its splendid architecture and the diverse history associated with it. Next, visit Jaswant Thada, a white marbled architecture that serves as a memorial site of a Rajput clan. Built in the 19th century by Maharaja Sardar Singh, it was made in the memory of his father, Maharaja Jaswant Singh II, the 33rd Rathore ruler of Jodhpur. The serene atmosphere of this place is perfect for quiet contemplation and reflection. After that, explore the Mandore Garden, which is adorned with beautiful looking Cenotaphs or dewals of the former rulers of the region. These cenotaphs are different from the typical umbrella-shaped structures found in Rajasthan, as they have been erected by taking a cue from the architecture of a Hindu temple. Made in red sandstone, these structures are four stories high, have a stylish spire, and finely defined columns. The most stunning dewal is that of Maharaja Ajit Singh. The colors of the red sandstone structure on a hill outcrop, along with the lush garden, look soothing to the eyes. Finally, visit the Clock Tower with Market, a popular landmark in the old city. The vibrant Sardar Market is close to the tower, and narrow alleys lead from here to a bazaar selling vegetables, spices, Indian sweets, textiles, silver, and handicrafts. It is a great place to ramble around at leisure, soaking in the local culture and picking up some souvenirs to take back home with you. After a full day of sightseeing, return to your hotel in Jodhpur and spend the evening at your leisure, perhaps enjoying a delicious dinner or a relaxing massage to unwind.
After enjoying a delicious breakfast, you will drive towards Udaipur, which is often referred to as the Venice of the East. This beautiful city is situated around azure water lakes and is surrounded by the lush green hills of the Aravallis. The stunning Lake Palace, located in the middle of Lake Pichola, is one of the most picturesque sights in Udaipur. Additionally, it is home to Jaisamand Lake, which is claimed to be the second largest man-made sweet water lake in Asia. Upon arrival, you will check-in at your hotel and have the rest of the day to relax.
After a hearty breakfast, you will visit Jagdish Temple, which is the largest temple in Udaipur and is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, who is known as the preserver of the universe. This temple is a perfect example of the Indo-Aryan style of architecture and is a three-storied marvel. You will also visit the City Palace, which is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Udaipur. The palace complex is the largest in Rajasthan and is situated on the banks of Lake Pichola. Additionally, you will visit Saheliyon Ki Bari, which is a stunning garden located on the banks of Fateh Sagar Lake. The garden is famous for its lush green lawns, marble art, and fountains. You will also visit the Maharana Pratap Memorial, which is a historic site dedicated to the gallant Maharana Pratap. Finally, you will enjoy a boat ride at Lake Pichola.
After breakfast, you will drive to Pushkar, a small town located in Ajmer district of Rajasthan. This sacred town is known for its legendary temples and old lakes and derives its name from the Sanskrit word “Pushkar,” which means blue lotus flower. Pushkar is one of the oldest cities in India, and according to legend, Lord Brahma performed tapasya here for thousands of years to catch a glimpse of Lord Vishnu. Upon arrival, you will check-in at your hotel and have the rest of the day to explore the town on your own.
After breakfast, you will drive to Ranthambore National Park, one of the most popular places to visit for wildlife lovers. This park was established in 1955 as a game sanctuary and received the status of a national park in 1980. Spread over an area of 1,334 square kilometers, Ranthambore National Park is home to the majestic tigers along with other wild animals. Upon arrival, you will check-in at your hotel and have the rest of the day to relax.
Start your day with an early morning Jeep Safari. After the safari, return to the hotel for breakfast and some relaxation. After lunch, enjoy one more Jeep Safari to explore the beautiful Ranthambore National Park.
After breakfast, proceed to Agra, a city nestled in the northern region of India’s Uttar Pradesh state. Agra is famous for the magnificent Taj Mahal, which is one of the wonders of the world. In addition to the Taj Mahal, Agra boasts many other attractions, UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and countless things to do. You can visit Agra Fort, Diwan-i-Am, Diwan-i-Khas, Sheesh Mahal & Khas Mahal, shop at Kinari Bazaar, and relish the famous Mughlai cuisine. Upon arrival in Agra, check-in at your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure.
Start your day early with a visit to the magnificent Taj Mahal (closed on Fridays). The Taj Mahal is a true masterpiece of Mughal-era architecture and an epitome of true love and passion. The beauty and magnificence of the Taj Mahal are beyond description. Afterward, return to the hotel for breakfast and then visit Agra Fort. Agra Fort was built in the year 1573 under the reign of Akbar, one of the greatest Mughal Emperors. Later, drive straight to Delhi and stay overnight at the hotel.
On the final day of your tour, you will be transferred to the airport for your onward journey.
